Tony Mascarpony – a vineyard radio project
A monthly curated mix from the vineyards of Languedoc
Tony Mascarpony is a slow, seasonal mix series — grape to groove — blending beloved music with life making wine in the south of France.
Born from long days in the vineyard and late nights rediscovering records,
Tony is Henry’s 90s DJ alter ego brought gently back to life. Each month’s episode weaves carefully selected tracks with reflections from vineyard life — harvest highs, business lows, family chaos, and the quiet beauty of rural France.
It’s part radio show, part audio diary, part collaborative mixtape — with tracks sent in by listeners around the world.
Latest vintage below.
Ep. 7: reap what you sow
A mix that moves between groove, soul, edge and more reflective moments—simple, varied, and easy to sit with.
This month follows Henry’s trip to the UK, meeting like-minded businesses and hoping to build something lasting, all while quietly wondering if any orders will actually come through. There’s a bit of self-motivation along the way (occasionally veering into singing in the car), followed by the long, slightly awkward silence afterwards as he waits. Back home, spring arrives fast in the vineyards—beautiful, slightly overwhelming—and a clear reminder that starting a wine business in France is as much about time, energy and patience as it is about wine.

Ep. 6: pruning edition
Pruning season.
Blue skies. Cold mornings. Secateurs in hand. Sap is rising. Winter loosens. Spring is close.
This month we’re out in the rows: snipping canes, ground waking up and birds returning. There’s doubt too — restless nights, wondering if we’re cutting the right way. But also a quietly growing confidence in what we’re doing, after sticking with it for 8 years.
The soundtrack is simply what’s been playing this month, and a great soundtrack for beautiful almost spring days. Artists: Jónsi, Roscoe, The Beta Band, Junip, The Movers, Galt MacDermot, The Petch Phin Thong Band, Midlife, Arrested Development, The Mountain Goats and Doves.

Ep. 5: french wine edition
Mix inspired by life making wine in the south of France. French hip-hop, électronica and jazz-tinged grooves, gently narrated from the vines.
This episode includes a conversation with Harriet and Henry, reflecting on two years in France — the highs, the lows, and everything in between.
Huge thanks to everyone who sent in tracks this month — far too many to mention, but it’s been a joy discovering so much great music together.

Ep. 4: vintage wine edition
November brought one big question: should we take on a 60-year-old Cinsault vineyard in a place that’s been growing this grape for 500 years and making wine for two millennia?
Musically, November leans into timelessness. Inspired by a few late-night whiskies and wines with my dad, Chick Churchill of Ten Years After—who came down to visit—we built a soundtrack of classics that feel woven into the fabric of our story. Hear the unadulterated playlist here at Spotify.

Ep. 3: chilled wine edition
October: that quiet exhale after the chaos of harvest. This month’s mix drifts somewhere between sunset over the Pyrenees and 6 a.m. after a 90s club night — peaceful, nostalgic, a little hazy. Curated with friends and featuring Loyle Carner, Orbital, Four Tet, Fred Again, Bonobo and Stavroz. Click here for the full unadulterated spotify playlist.
In this episode, Harriet and Henry look back on how they first fell into wine, why they stayed, and what still excites them today.

Ep. 2: house wine edition (feat. S:MESS)
September brings something special to the Fromaggerie. Tony has invited his oldest friend, S:Mess — a partner in crime since the 90s club days (and before) — to collaborate. It’s harvest season here, and the mix is infused with stories of long days pressing grapes, fermenting juice, and scrubbing tanks, all against a backdrop of chaos, laughter, and a little bit of stress.
