Adventurer : Chick Churchill
Les virages 2023
Chick Churchill’s name and image appears on one of our bottles as a tribute to mastery in its purest form. As the keyboardist for Ten Years After, he stood on the iconic Woodstock stage in 1969, a moment forever etched in music history. But what inspires us most isn’t that moment—it’s the craft of musicianship that brought him there and the dedication to the craft over the next 60 years.
Chick’s life has never been about following the standard, conventional path. His was—and still is—a life of adventure, lived through creativity, risk, and exploration. As a musician, he didn’t settle for predictable rhythms or safe choices. His keyboard solos were full of unexpected twists and turns, fluid and alive, always searching for something just beyond the obvious. That ability to push boundaries while remaining grounded in skill is what defines true artistry. His music wasn’t just technically brilliant—it had soul, spontaneity, and the power to take listeners on a journey.
It’s this spirit of creating something dynamic and alive that inspires us in our winemaking. Like Chick’s music, we don’t aim for flawless predictability, but something far more interesting.
