Adventurer : Bridget Calaghan
À vol d’oiseau 2023
Bridget Callaghan’s name and image appears on one of our bottles because she stands for something rare: a life built on values. As co-founder of Well Kneaded (with her awesome partner and food extraordinaire, Laurence), she didn’t just set out to serve some of the best sourdough pizza in London—she set out to change lives. From the start, Bridget’s mission wasn’t about growth for growth’s sake or chasing status. Instead, it was about creating something meaningful and lasting, something that could leave the world a little better than she found it.
Well Kneaded provides training and paid work placements for young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds—people often overlooked by traditional employers. Bridget realised that traditional employers simply couldn’t see the greatness within these people, and that by working, listening, supporting and learning together, they could make the world a much better, and tastier, place.
This hasn’t been the most conventional version of success, and that’s exactly why we find it so inspiring. While many businesses expand for profit, Bridget has remained laser-focused on her purpose: giving people opportunities to thrive, building something deeper than just a business. Her journey is a testament to the power of knowing your true direction and staying the course, no matter how much noise or temptation there is to stray.
Her story inspires us because it’s proof that you don’t need to follow the crowd to succeed. You just need to know your direction and stick to it, as the crow flies. Bridget’s work reminds us that success isn’t about how far or fast you go—it’s about what you build and who you lift along the way.
